Is it normal to have to keep urinating after surgery?

I had a biopsy done on my neck today and when I was in the recovery room, I had te pee twice within the space of 1 hour. Now that I am home I have to keep pissing ALOT. Is this normal? I have had anesthesia before for a past procedure to have my wisdom teeth surgically taken out and when I got home I just pissing. The nurses doctors on both occasions told me to keep drinking alot of fluids to stay hydrated. Would this have something to do with it?
