Ganglion cyst on my wrist.?

So i had one on the underside of my right wrist. i was able to rub it to make it feel better and one day i noticed that it didn't hurt and out of habit of rubbing it i started to rub. and then it felt like it just popped or went away..very strange feeling. well now i have one on top of part of my right wrist, that i'm not sure if its a new one or the other one just moved. and it is harder to rub like i did the previous one. when i had my first one my dr. said that i could do it the old fashioned way and slam a heavy book on it very hard to pop it. and now i have this one and it is making my wrist hurt very bad. just wondering if anyone out there has a ganglion cyst problem and did the book thing to get rid of it. i'm desperate and i CAN NOT afford to go to the dr. about it and have it surgically taken out.
