Can somebody help me with my hair?

I got highlights in May and a bang in June but my bang was a little too thick and my highlights didn't make it any better..I got my hair braided to get it to grow out sum..I wanna go to a beautician and let her clip my ends to make give my hair a little bounce..and dye it to get rid of the highlights is this a good idea or will it make a turn for the worse help me please
