My mom was just diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer on friday. She was diagnosed a year or two ago in one breast but it was really really early. She had a mastectomy and chemo but then it came back in the other breast. For the past few months she has been having a lot of trouble breathing, she couldn't even walk up a flight of stairs. She had a mastectomy a few weeks ago and after they sent her home she had to go to the emergency room because she couldn't breath. That's when they finally found out that it had spread to her lungs and bones. The doctors didn't even try to find out the real cause of her breathing problem before the surgery. They said "Oh it's Asthma." NOW they're scrambling to find some answers. The hospital she is in right now is already her second and now they want to transfer her again! She just got to this hospital last night! We haven't even been able to really sit down with the doctors to talk to them. It took her oncologist two weeks to even tell her she had cancer because she was on vacation! Little did she know that it wasn't just in her breast. They said "It's early." It really seems like they dropped the ball and now my poor mom has to suffer for it. Her oncologist is the one who wants her transferred again because she is affiliated with the hospital. That gives me a feeling that she wasn't even consulted about the last transfer. There just seems to be so much mis-communication. Please help!! I don't want to lose my mom. If anyone has any encouraging stories about people who have cured stage IV cancer I would appreciate it so much!!!! Thanks in advance!

For me, it hurt (stung) for the first 2 days in which I took the meds. Then for the next about week it hurt if you accidently touched back there. It heals pretty quickly. It just depends on how squeamish you are. For my first one I swear it hurt for weeks and couldnt touch it for months! But the second one I got out I was touching in less than a week.

I only have it on one side so my right peck is out farther than my left, but it is considered to be a "mild" condition. My friends brother was 5 or 6 when he started becoming self consious. He eventually developed beulimia around age 8. He only ate when his parents forced him too. I also recall once when he stuck his finger down his throat and threw up on his plate at the table because they wouldn't let him leave until he ate everything. Childhood eating disorders are very serious and uncommon. It would be an interesting topic that i'm sure would capture anyone attention. I hope this helps.

She has been living on her own for several years now. I have been proud of her. She lived with me twice after my wife left. She has lived with her mom a few times, and one with her sisters. She mis-spends her money ($200 phone bill/mo., trip to Seattle to see her brother using all her tax return). I try to coach/advise her, but she rejects it. Last night she told me and her sisters that she has resigned from her 2 jobs because of PTSD. She has been in very abusive relationships with men. Most recently she drank with a man in a bar till late, and was "Rupeed" and woke up in his bed. She now fears she has AIDS...(she says she is getting medical care and testing). I drove to her apt in an other town late last night to get her (she lives on the same block as her mom and her boy-friend). She said nothing to me the whole way. She is sleeping on my couch now. What do I do? I have driven her to jobs as early as 5:30 am, fed her, clothed her, advised her best I know how. For her birthday last week she turned me down all day saying she was too "tired." I got to take her to dinner and give her gifts the next day, only to find out she sat in a bar with her mom for 5 hours on her b-day. More than I can put here, she is making terrible life-choices. And now it looks like she is setting her self up for either $$$ hand-outs or moving in with someone (possibly me). Her sisters and brother-in-law called me last night telling me I had to go get her...I was in bed. Her mom was drunk somewhere in a bar. They have all excluded her repeatedly. I have helped her to get counselling - we all have. She misses appointments for them as well as for free medical care she is elligible for and then looses the coverage. I am still working on myself - the divorce crushed me. My wife has been with a dozen men, and lives with an ex-con drug-dealer who is out of work and has no driver's license and beats her. I have not been with anyone since she left in 2008... I am just now getting stronger and moving on in a healthier way. I know I can help my daughter - what do you think is the best way?

Can I have full range of motion in my knee 4 years after surgery?

I had a benign cyst in my knee under the patella that was surgically removed in 2006. It has been hurting to this day, I think because of weak muscles around the knee. I hadn't really been doing knee strengthening exercises. I did physical therapy after the surgery and then again in 2008. I had some muscle strength back after that. Then in 2009 I ran track in school and last year I ran track also, but I got little muscle strength gain. I am trying to regain muscle in my knee and quads and trying to regain full range of motion in my knee. Is it possible? and if so, how long until it I get full range? Also my kneecap is kind of stiff and when i bend my knee and I have pain. What can I do?

I live in the state of Illinois and have worked in a nursing home setting for 10 years with this company. In March I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and currently undergoing chemo with a mastectomy in October/November this year. I also have a port which was surgically placed. I have only missed two days, due to sickness from the chemo. I have three months of sick time coming to me that I am hoping to use after my Mastectomy. I have had excellent evaluations. Until recently, I was occasionally working on the "wheelchair" floor. Most of the time I worked on all the other floors. I can still perform all my job duties, except lifting the wheelchair people is VERY difficult, even using the lift. I have spoke to HR and given them a letter of accommodation to remove me from the wheelchair floor. This was denied, due to it being in my job description that I must lift. I still want to keep my job and I can still do my job 100% on the other floors. I have explained this to HR. My Doctor has written me a letter stating I may lift as tolerated and HR want my Dr to be more specific of the weight. However, it depend on the day and how I feel from chemo. Now my employer has scheduled me consistently on the wheelchair floor. Please help!! What can I do to keep my job? I am only 60 years old and can not get any financial help and need the insurance. Hello, I've had Laporoscopy surgery to unblock both fallopian tubes. After surgery my doctor told me there was too much scar tissue , a cyst (removed) and that the adhesions were so bad that the tubes were twisted. Overall he said he removed as much as he could. Could there be a slight chance that one could conceive even if there is a small opening? Is there a way I could get my tubes repaired surgically? My last option is IVF but its just very expensive even with the $7000 that my Medical Insurance covers. Any success stories of women that have had both tubes blocked? white is always good or even a white wash with distressed look. I really can't say without knowing the decor of the room. But with just that color in mind i think a nice stormy blue would look awesome (or possibly a charlcoal blue). My Gauges Are Stuck.. How Do I Get Them Out?

I recently bought a pair of glass plugs that are flared, or tapered, on both ends. The middle is a 2 and the ends are 0s. My ears were 2s at the time and I was looking forward to stretching to 0. I bought another pair of gauges which were 00 tapers that actually said 0 on the package, so as I stretched my ears with those tapers the skin inside my lobe ripped and was pretty much raw flesh. The taper was difficult to stretch and did not go all the way through, making my ears actually at 0. I ended up putting the pair of plugs in my ears. My ears healed in the middle, which is a size 2. So now I'm struggling to get these plugs out of my ears because the ends are 0s as my ears are now healed to 2s. I've tried getting them out in the shower but it doesn't help, the plugs taper/flare way too quickly on the ends for me to be able to stretch my ears out and my ears have been scarred about 4 times now. I was thinking my only option is to get them surgically removed but I want to avoid that as much as possible. Any suggestions??

How long does the pain from wisdom tooth extraction usually last?

I had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed on Wednesday morning. 3 days post op and I'm still in pain. I've been following all the instructions from my dentist, except I stopped taking Vicodin due to the nausea it caused me. While on the Vicodin I didn't experience any pain but now that I'm off of it it hurts pretty bad and I'm wondering if this is still normal 3 days post op. I've been watching for dry socket, but the pain seems to be coming from all of the extraction sites and isn't extreme. Plus, I can still see where the stitches are and there doesn't seem to be any exposed bone or foul smell associated with dry socket. Is it normal to still have pain and swelling or could I be in the process of developing dry socket? What are the early symptoms of dry socket?

We received a letter in the mail from a jp court ordering our appearance. The office wrote an afidavit at the school police department and my son or I was arrested,cited or anything, just notifyed by the jp court of the complaint and ordered to appear. I believe it was retaliation as my complaint was over a 504 issue and that is suppose to be protected by law. We pled no contest in jp court and are appealing it in county court. However isnt their laws about arrest,maranda rights and such.

Excel option buttons: two of them keep changing together?

I have one option group box. Inside of that I have two option buttons. Each option button is linked to the same cell. Each option button exists totally inside the group box, and they do not overlap one another. A cell value of 1 ends up highlighting both option buttons at the same time, and any other value un-highlights both. If I click either button while un-highlighted, they both activate. I cant un-highlight either except by manually changing the value of the linked cell or by going into the either option buttons settings, but then they both un-hightlight at the same time. I cannot separate these two option buttons from acting as a single button. I want them to be linked, but having opposite values: one highlighted and the other not. I want to be able to use these buttons like they were intended - when one is highlighted, the other un-highlights, and vice versa. But that is not how it is working.

Terrified of Dry Socket?

I had all four of my wisdom teeth surgically removed on Wednesday morning. My bottom left socket is aching and I'm terrified of developing dry socket. I only took 3 Vicodin pills before switching to Advil because of nausea yesterday. I've been following the dentist instructions including rinsing with salt water after every meal and no straws. I've also been on a mostly liquid diet for three days. My dentist stitched up all the sockets and I'll have to get them removed next week. When am I in the clear for dry socket and what are the early warning signs?

How bad does wisdom teeth removal hurt?

Ok, I am having my wisdom teeth removed on June 3; and I am terrified. I will be having all 4 removed at once (all impacted, though the top two are out slightly more than the bottom ones) and will also be having my second molars surgically uprighted. I am really worried about what the pain is like afterwards. I am being put to sleep and know I hopefully shouldn't feel anything during the procedure, but would kinda like to know what's it like afterwards. I have braces as well and before I had them put on, I had to have my 4 first bicuspids extracted which I was equally terrified of. This procedure turned out to be nothing! I feel bad because I bought animals from Petco?

Well, 9 years ago I got my first guinea pig from a little old local petshop. Now, I wished we'd gotten her brother, but that's not important. She's healthy, hardy, and seems to have a life-time contract! About 5 or 6 years ago we felt she was too lonely so we got her a friend. We had to go to Petco because it was the only place avaliable around where I live that sold another female guinea pig. She was a mess...always sick and in fact the said a vet had checked her that afternoon and gave her a clean bill of health. She was sick, it was obvious. One of the girls that worked there was fond of the little girlie and told us the store was going to put her down if no one bought her today (this was after we bought her) because they didn't want to risk infection of the other animals...at the time I was thinking "Okay, well they are just trying to prevent illness" but now I'm thinking "What the **** is wrong with them?" I didn't know about all these bad things Petco had down (the articles about them buying all those poor cruelly treated animals and then backfiring for MONEY!!!)!! 6 months ago we got two more...why? I dont know! My sister persisted that petco doesnt do anything wrong! In the cage there were two other sick guinea pigs (there were obvious signs) but we got two anyways and a different girl said "Aww I'm gonna miss these guys, they were the good ones" like....umm...excuse me? What in the world is that supposed 2 mean? The manager also assured us all animals are checked by the vet and given a clean bill of health, when we asked about the others. I wanted to get the others, for the sake that I couldn't leave the poor things, but unfortunately didnt. I no longer support PetCo in buying live animals and refuse to support them whatsoever. But my friends only support shelter animals, as I always have (I volunteer) but when they ask where I got my animals I always dodge the questions because I don't want them to know that I supported Petco. I feel so bad that I bought them, but sort of good because some people buy them to feed them to their snakes or they could've just been put down in the back of the store. I'm torn between buying the animals from PetCo because I worry about them being mis-treated but I don't want to be a supporter....Should I really feel bad for this..indirect-ish support??? 1999 Mazda Millenia Fuel Problems?

My car was giving me trouble when i bought it, when i drove it and slowed down to a stop and let it idle it would go dead. It did this for a while and the check engine light started flashing. I got someone to run a computer check on it and said my engine was mis-firing. Looked at everything on my engine and noticed the air intake hose was held together by electrical tape. I replaced it, and cranked it up and it ran fine for a little bit. Drove it down the road into a drive-way and came to a complete stop and it didn't die or idle low or anything, then all of the sudden when i hit the accelerator and the car died. So I tried to crank it and it wouldn't start, it would turn over just fine but nothing else. Took the spark plugs out and they were corroded real bad so i sanded them. Then the car would crank, but it would die if you let off the gas. So i had to get my car pulled home, changed the spark plugs and now it cranks fine, but i'm worried there is something else wrong with it. I would hate to drive it down the road and it all happen again. Any ideas if there could be anything else wrong with it?
